Happy New Year!

Out with 2012. See ya!

A lot of people are saying they hope 2013 will be better. I hadn't really thought of it but I guess 2012 did suck, both on a personal level and otherwise. Yet I don't feel it was the worst, nor do i feel 2013 will necessarily be any better (I think it will be, on a personal level).

If you ask me what year any random event happened, there's only a few things I could easily answer. It's all a blur, I guess because it's moving so fast. Stuff happens, good and bad, awesome and atrocious, every year.

It's not because of any prophesies, it's mostly because of us!

They say it's what we make of our lives that matters. Maybe collectively we can all make 2013 be better. With our actions, attitudes, deeds, respect and love for each other as well as for ourselves, we can make 2013 a better year. And hoping so can help too, but it's our actions that will make it happen.

I am one of the most guilty-as-charged people for waiting and hoping for things to be better. Motivation, action, self-confidence, and improving my health are high priorities for myself, and I guess I could call them New Year's resolutions. Or I could call them my keys to survival. Oh and getting my world organized...OMG would that be great! I have a lot of work to do on a personal level.

Well, enough of my rambling. I just came here to post a random picture for cryin' out sakes.

Best wishes for a wonderful new year; let's work on it and yes, hope for a great 2013. To borrow a phrase from the 60's, "peace and love" (and no I am NOT an old hippy)!

Happy New Year!

P.S. I just remembered I didn't just come here to post a random picture. I also came here to point out some changes to the photo blog's address. I cancelled the domain name "" and changed the Dark Sky Photography blog's address from "" to "". If you accessed it straight from blogger (or any way, not via the domain) the new address (which redirects to the above url anyway) is
I've already fixed the link in the right hand column.
More about that blog later. TTFN

Some Stuff. And doughboys. Mmmm.

Well, Google, you're really making life confusing for people like me with multiple gmail accounts and multiple YouTube accounts and stuff. I used to always be logged in as darkskywv - now I'm learning to check and see what profile I'm on before I post or comment on anything.

Also for quite awhile now, I've had to log in to Blogger when I used to be logged in as long as I was logged in to gmail. Minor stuff but still a PITA.

So I've rediscovered my Photobucket account(s) and will be posting pics from it every so often...hey, maybe on Saturdays! There's a novel idea. These aren't my work, unless otherwise stated. I sure do wish i knew who to credit for some of these.

Anyway, here's my first installment. It's been a favorite of mine for many years.

New Category at FAA and other fascinating facts

They don't handle sales of non-photo/art at Fine Art America but they allow you to list items for self-fulfilling orders. I took advantage of that to list a couple items I listed at Etsy, figuring if someone from FAA inquires, I can send them a link to my Etsy shop (which btw, I just opened).

Did I mention I listed some photos on my Society 6 account? I don't think I did :)

They are some of the same I have had listed at Red Bubble for quite some time, an account which I recently revamped with new prices, removing some photos, adding/removing products, etc.  T-Shirts (and greeting cards), featuring my Aquene photos (and others) here!

Working on getting going again on my ebay. Not quite there yet but hopefully soon. Say "good luck, Wayne". lol

Pair of truck ladder racks

Clamp-on or bolt-on, adjustable width
Black. Have a few spots of surface rust.
Asking $70 for the pair. $40 for one.
Will consider even trade for cap (6ish foot).

Don't know the weight capacity but have carried both the kayak and a 17 foot canoe together.

Kayak! Future Beach - Trophy 126 (orange)

I'm both happy and sad to say this has been sold.
I badly needed the money and I'll get another one someday (soon?).

It was great to see how excited the buyers (Mom and daughter, for the daughter) were. It's like being sure your pet you have to part with is going to a happy home. :) Very nice people too.

10½ foot sit-in kayak. Lots of fun!
Bought March 2010. Good lightly used condition.
Sells new at Dick's Sporting Goods for $369 without paddle, etc.
Only been using once or twice a year and need the money.
$350, includes, kayak, paddle, cockpit cover, and life vest.

When it was new...just dirtier now.

In August.
